How do you navigate that, being Maverick’s mom and telling his story for him until he has a voice to share it himself?6. Is there anything you want to add or reiterate from our conversation?My name is Emily, and I’m 28 years old. I’ve been married to my husband, Aaron, for five years, and together we’re doing our best to navigate life with our sweet and strong 3-year-old son, Maverick, who was born with a rare condition called Epidermolytic Ichthyosis. Being his mom has changed me in ways I never expected and has taught me so much about resilience and gratitude. I’ve been a nurse since 2020, with a background in emergency medicine, though I have primarily focused on being a stay at home mom the past couple of years.
