After being caught in North Carolina in 2000 and sentenced to 45 years, he executed a bold 2004 escape by hiding under a delivery truck. Instead of fleeing far, he secretly lived for months inside a Charlotte Toys "R" Us and later created a hidden room in an abandoned Circuit City next door, built surveillance with baby monitors, and planned a post-Christmas Toys "R" Us robbery.
