探测器列传：78.詹姆斯·韦布望远镜

一开始这台望远镜被称为"下一代空间望远镜"。2004年，给它起了个正式的名字，叫做詹姆斯·韦布望远镜。想当初，在詹姆斯·韦布局长的领导之下，NASA成功的实施了很多大型航天工程，比如说阿波罗登月计划。不过呢，他没等到阿波罗载人登月成功，就于1968年辞职了。不管怎么说，这位老领导还是很值得纪念一下的。差不多等到2004年，国会的项目也批了，资金也到位了，这个项目就可以撸起袖子加油干了。这台望远镜的建造过程是一场持续了20多年的马拉松工程，它并不是靠着诺斯罗普格鲁门一家厂商制造出来的，而是由全球14个国家超过300个大学和企业的好几千名工程师共同协作完成的，当然总装是在诺斯罗普格鲁门。这个过程真的是一波三折^
