The Scott PodAuthor: The Scott Pod
The Scott Pod is a podcast project that remembers Scott Hutchison through music, lyrics, moments, art, memories and more. The aim of The Scott Pod is to collate, explore, share, feel and also celebrate the stories that bring artists, collaborators, fans and peers together.FormatEach episode of The Scott Pod will usually be divided into three sections:- a discussion with a special guest connected to Scott or any of his championed causes- a community submissions section, offering a platform for the wider FRabbit community to promote any events, fundraising or product-sales benefiting Scott's causes- a listener cover submission. The cover will be determined by the guest for that episode, and you can learn more about The Scott Pod episodes here. (Check out the top menu of the page to explore other areas of this site, too.)Sometimes, that theme might be a topic, or even a whole episode or feature in it which looks more closely at a song or performance.CommunityAs time goes on, the hope is to build The Scott Pod into (yet another!) community brought together in our myriad ways to talk, learn, discover, shout up and generally look out for each other - even if it is a quick hello on a social media account or an indulgently deep and detailed thread on a forum. Episode #6 - Dan Stevenson (Frontierer / Lift)
Episode 6
Sunday, 11 December, 2022
In episode 6, we talk with Dan Stevenson, guitarist in extreme metal band Frontierer, Sectioned and producer of his own project, Lift, in collaboration with his friends from across the UK music scene.Dan talks about his love of Scott's music, how it informs on the music he creates (albeit in different genres); what it's like crossing the Forth Road bridge on a regular basis with 'Floating in the Forth' tattooed on you - and how the first time he heard a Frightened Rabbit song, it wasn't performed by the band - or indeed hadn't even been released yet.We also discuss what places Dan felt are creatively important; the power of music and what it's like to receive macaroni fan art from one of your favourite formative musicians. This episode we have community submissions covering the ideal festive gifts - from Tiny Changes shop, Frightened Rabbit's merch store & a special raffle from long-time Tiny Changes supporter Splendid Decay - offering the opportunity to win a rare Frightened Rabbit vinyl. The episode is closed by a cover of Dan's favourite Frightened Rabbit song, covered performed by the late Micki Warriner-Woods & Wilted Flower.
