Peak Season Podcast | Episode 8 | Andy Knight
Episode 8
Thursday, 8 October, 2026

There's a version of climbing history that belongs to the loudest voice. The climbers with the best social and photographic opportunities are regarded… while the climbs done quietly – in the dark, in the cold, by people who never bothered to tell anyone – get untold. Perhaps just written down as data in the American Alpine Journal or your local guide book. These are my favorite stories. The ones untold. The ones sluthed out by reading between the lines. We have a story of an Utah resident who has spent 30 years finding lines nobody else could see, climbing them, and going home. Not chasing the credit or photo shoots. Just updating the manifest of another route to climb. If you don't climb in Utah — or if you do…and are not in Andy's circle — There’s a good chance you’ve never heard his name unless you pay attention to who established the routes. Since his modesty shines brighter than his achievements – let me tell you who this undercover crusher is.His name is Andy Knight.
