Author: Kellie Bancalari

Hi there! Welcome to Y We Advocate a podcast launched by two YMCA Civic Engagement (CE) alumni, Kellie & Brahvan, to inspire students and young adults to get more involved in local and state politics. Over the next few weeks, we will be talking to YMCA CE alumni and friends, who are change-makers in all levels of government and society. Through this, we hope our conversations empower you to be the change within your own communities. Podcast episodes will be released weekly on Monday.

Taral Patel
Episode 6
Monday, 10 January, 2022

Taral Patel, a Texas native, has worked in nearly every level of government. He started his career in the Texas legislature, became the chief of staff for Fort Bend County in Texas, and now works in the White House Liaison Office. In this episode, we discuss organizing as a high school student, why effective county governments are critical, and, of course, Joe Biden’s love of ice cream.
