Anxiety and depression are not character flaws, signs of weakness, or things you can simply "snap out of." They are heavy, deeply painful realities of the 21st century. I know, because I have suffered from both. It made me question my faith, my relevance and whether I could go on. When others dismiss your anxiety or minimize your depression, it is easy to internalize that indifference and feel completely abandoned. But human dismissal does not dictate our faith, our worth or the prayers we pray.
