Skipping Lunch Lines

Skipping Lunch Lines

Author: Dara Salas Goncalves

Do you ever find yourself wondering "Why isn't this taught in school?" Are you frustrated because, despite your best efforts to get your teen to heed your advice, it all falls on deaf ears? Well, you are definitely not alone in this! My entrepreneurial and parenthood journeys really highlighted the gap between what the world needs and what our schools are actually teaching and how woefully unprepared most people are to achieve their greatest dreams. The people truly WINning in a post modern economy have a different set of skills that aren't taught in school and are privy to information not taught to the masses. With that in mind, we invite you on our journey to glean from the world's most successful leaders and icons of industry the real skills the next generation needs moving forward. We are on a mission to help teens skip the lunch line for the front line of a movement empowered with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a fast-paced, ever changing world. This is Skipping Lunch Lines, we're glad you're here.

Episode 15
Friday, 4 June, 2021

Craig M. Chavis Jr. is an award-winning author and business strategist that specializes in helping entrepreneurs develop proactive, profitable, and proven business models.  At the core of Craig’s coaching philosophy lies the mantra – Become the Entrepreneur of Your Life. Through this lens, he coaches through an alternative and holistic perspective cultivated from over a decade of first-hand experience launching and managing multiple businesses in Ghana, Costa Rica, Peru, and the United States of America. He is a serial entrepreneur, a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, a former division-1 collegiate athlete, and received his BSBA from Samford University and MBA from the University of Tampa. Craig is also a super foodie, world traveler, and lifelong learner. THINGS WE DISCUSS IN THIS EPISODEThe role that misinformation and disinformation plays in keeping people from creating wealth and how exposure to wealth really opened Craig’s eyes to the discrepancies of how rich kids grow up with a mindset that is tuned to wealth creation. How intellectual curiosity and learning how to ask better questions fueled Craig's entrepreneurial mindset and helped him to recognize patterns that have helped him stay nimble in business and to strategically plan for the future. How serving in the Peace Corps prepared Craig to be the entrepreneur of his own life, why it's a great path to entrepreneurship, what parents can do to foster an entrepreneurial mindset and how technology can either be a hindrance or an effective tool in developing entrepreneurial skills and thought authority in a teen's area of interest. So listen in as we discuss all these topics and so much more. CONNECT WITH CRAIG CHAVIS, JR.If you enjoyed today's episode, we encourage you to connect with Craig.
