Author: Bob Lotich, Linda Lotich

Success as a Christian. Success in Marriage. Success as a manager of the money God's entrusted to you. That's what we're after. If you want that too, then you'll love the show. Learn to simplify, automate, multiply & get full control of the money God's entrusted you with. So you can quit stressing about it, pay off debt & get on with your God-given purpose. Oh and we have a different take on money than most financial experts. We aren't going to judge you for your past mistakes and we haven't forgotten the pain of being broke so we can relate. We believe simple always beats complicated. And we believe money isn't the goal, but is simply a tool that can be used to fulfill what God has called us to do. We help you spend less time thinking about money while getting better results. The Seed Time Money podcast is where we (Bob & Linda Lotich) share the mindsets, beliefs and strategies we used to go from being debt-ridden and broke to: - paying off 400k of debt - eliminating all guilt and shame with money - building multiple streams of passive income - honoring God with our finances - learning how to save & invest wisely - having financial unity in our marriage - giving 1 million by age 40 Occasionally, we interview guests like John Mark Comer, Mark Batterson, Levi Lusko, Annie F. Downs, Joshua Becker, Jamie Winship, Carlos Whittaker, Crystal Paine, Jordan Raynor, and other Biblically-minded Christian thought leaders as we seek to connect our faith with our real lives. And if you like what you hear on the podcast, consider diving deeper with us by grabbing our award-winning book 'Simple Money, Rich Life' or take your spouse or church small group through our 6-week on-demand workshop 'True Financial Freedom'. How to Know If Money Has Become Your Idol (Jesus is King with Bryan Harris - Part 1)
Friday, 11 September, 2026

You can do everything right with money and still not feel free. Budget in place. Debt gone. Emergency fund full. And underneath it, the same low hum of anxiety and comparison that was there before. Our friend Bryan built his entire financial life on three words he'd heard a thousand times: cash is king. He's a Dave Ramsey superfan. He did the debt-free scream. Then one day in the shower it hit him. Cash isn't king. Jesus is. That one shift exposed a money idol he never knew he had, and it changed how he makes every financial decision since. In this conversation we get into how to tell whether money has become your idol (it usually hides in a phrase you say every day), the two kingdoms your money can run on, a definition of financial freedom that has nothing to do with a dollar amount, and what happened when Bryan and his wife prayed about spending their last $12,000 and believed God said yes. To be clear, there is real wisdom in "cash is king." This is not a takedown. It's a conversation about what sits on the throne. We wrote down the 14 things we did to be able to give away $1 million by our 40th birthdays.
