In this season’s episodes, I will be talking to more of our community members in the capital about dietary restrictions and choices and how Madrid caters to these needs in 2020. I’d like to take a moment to recognize our Patrons Adolfo, Karen & Johlene who support the work of this growing community on a monthly basis. If you would like to become a patron visit www.patreon.com/eatout In our 5th episode, I am talking to Amena Ali, a travel geek and foodie from Scotland with South Asian roots. She is a firm believer that food is the best way to bond with others and is also the way she measures comfort and quality when she travels and visits new places. Today we are talking about halal eating and how she navigates this whilst living in Madrid, from its principles to grabbing food with friends and everything in-between. What we talk about What Halal is The misconceptions about Halal food How easy it is to eat and drink out in Madrid following Islamic Her go-to places in the city to eat without the worry Tips & tricks for Halal eaters in the city Her dreams and wishes for the future of Halal eating in Madrid About Amena Amena is a Scottish gal with South Asian roots, travel geek, and foodie who moved to Madrid in 2014. She has been fortunate to experience many things in life and live to tell the tale, just like this adventure that we are all living now. She likes to give everything a positive spin and believes this is the only way to get through challenging times. She's from a big family so food has always been the way in which they bond. It’s also the way in which she measures comfort and quality when she travels and visits new places. She learned to cook out of necessity at a young age but that later evolved and became a way to create memories with family and friends. She eats out as often as she can and is always on the lookout for different types of cuisine as she feels this is the gateway into the culture and the people.  Join our Facebook Community Eat Out Madrid -https://www.facebook.com/groups/eatoutmadrid to meet other food lovers in the capital who are on the search for the best places to eat and drink.
