261 - Teeter Pig Takeover - A Veterans Ice Fishing Event with Ultimate Veteran Adventures
Episode 261
Wednesday, 21 October, 2026
This episode is brought to you by Spypoint Trail Cameras. Two Marines and a sailor walk onto a frozen lake. I joined Ultimate Veteran Adventures on Lake Gogebic in Michigan's U.P. for the Teeter Pig Takeover, a free guided ice fishing trip for veterans. Alex, who started UVA's Wisconsin chapter, tells the story of how a canceled Minnesota sleeper-house trip turned into his biggest event of the year. Dusty talks about his first UVA trip and the kind of brotherhood that keeps veterans picking up the phone for each other. We also get into why these trips can be harder for women veterans, and why this group made it easy. And yes, we explain the teeter pig. If you're a veteran who's struggling, you're not alone. Call the Veterans Crisis Line: dial 988, then press 1. You can also text 838255.
