Can Art Help Us Remember? The Story Behind Concentration, with Special Guest Arne Weingart
Wednesday, 1 April, 2026
What do you do when both the past and the present feel unthinkable? Think harder. Concentrate. In this special episode, Rabbi Shoshanah Conover sits down with Temple Sholom member, writer, and producer Arne Weingart, along with Karen Weingart and director Anna Gelman, to explore Concentration—a powerful theatrical adaptation of poetry set inside a World War II death camp.Born out of isolation during COVID, the work began as a series of poems written in the imagined voice of a young poet struggling to survive both physically and spiritually. Now brought to life through actors, music, and visual storytelling, Concentration becomes something more: a meditation on memory, resilience, and what it means to remain human in inhuman circumstances.Performances take place April 11–12—reserve your tickets before they sell out.
