Why Consequences Don't Need To Be Logical
Episode 142
Thursday, 12 February, 2026

#142 In this episode, Lisa discusses consequences and whether or not she believes they need to be logical to be effective. Throughout she covers what age she begins consequences, how she approaches discipline differently for toddlers compared to kids, what she believes is important for consequences to work, her stance on using chores as consequences, her thoughts on using physical activity as a consequence, her approach to siblings not getting along, and what she believes is the most important part of calm leadership parenting. Lastly, Lisa addresses ten listener questions, exploring how to respond when a 7-year-old goes to mom when his brother bothers him, how to manage consequences in the car or in public, strategies for handling a 7-year-old lying, and ways to stop siblings from constantly arguing. She then discusses how to address bad behavior from other kids, what to do when kids don't seem to mind doing their consequence, how to manage a 3-year-old who is territorial over toys, tips for getting a toddler to clean up after herself, choosing a consequence for a 3-year-old who hurts their younger sibling, and how to select consequences for an 8-year-old who refuses to do their chores.Learn more about the Toddler BratBusters Bootcamp (16-35 Months)Learn more about the BratBusters Bootcamp (Ages 3-12)Thank you for joining us!
