Misery Movies: Episode 17 – Elephant
Tuesday, 30 April, 2019
In episode seventeen of Misery Movies, we wrap up our April school shooting theme with a discussion of Gus Van Sant’s teenage alienation/fashion film Elephant. We’re also joined by special guest Mika Hrejsa. As always, the first half of the podcast is spoiler-free and includes our review of the film, while the second dives deep into the miserable details of the movie and thus contains plentiful spoilers. If you have a fetish for coughs and intrusive background noise, our original, unedited conversation can be found on our YouTube channel. The theme that plays at the beginning of the podcast is an excerpt from “Dance_or_Die” by Stefan Kartenberg, which Stefan has graciously made available for public use through a Creative Commons Attribution (3.0) license.
