An Ode to Fred Hampton

Fred Hampton was born on August 30, 1948 and murdered at the age of twenty-one on December 4, 1969. Fred Hampton excelled in academics at Triton college and at Proviso East High School in the suburbs of Chicago. He led 500 men and women in his local chapter of the NAACP Youth Council and became Deputy Chairman of the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Party of Self Defense. His murder was planned and executed by the Chicago Police Department in conjunction with the FBI in lieu of numerous deaths on both sides of the conflict. His death was mainly assisted by a mole “Black Panther” who became Head of his security detail. Here is my Ode to Fred Hampton. Rest In Power
