MatricideAuthor: Jesse Callahan Bryant
The idea behind Matricide is this: An enormous and often unrecognized variable driving our global environmental crisis is our obsession with war and violence, and thus, there is no path to a sustainable and equitable planetary future that does not explicitly plan for the dismantling of our culture of militarism. The purpose of Matricide is to become better oriented toward the consequences of war that often lie outside of typical tellings. That is, the consequences on nonhuman life and on the human communities who have oftentimes been relegated too to something akin to the nonhuman.
