100 Years of CoxAuthor: Frances
I am telling the story of ten siblings from the Machell Cox family, through the letters they wrote to each other. They were born in England between 1868 and 1884; seven of them lived in England and three lived abroad, in the Colonies. One of the siblings was my great grandfather. Also, the hockey film they had recently produced, and a film showing in London, where Vera is nervous at public speaking.February 1932 - it's the fortnight of the territorial matches again, and yes, you guessed it, loads of snow again. Vera and others clear enormous amounts of snow from the Great Comp hockey pitch.October 1941 - government ineffiency and red tape and Vera is angry. She just needs some shelves in the Gym for storing all the Land Girl uniforms, and Mr Piggins and Mr Higgins are not being helpful. You can contact Frances by email - machellcoxletters@gmail.comor X/Twitter - @CoxLetters or Blue Sky - @Coxletters.bsky.socialAll content is subject to copyright and belongs to Frances Thompson and the Bodleian Library.
