Paulo Passoni is a managing partner with SoftBank Group in Latin America. He heads a team that does growth equity capital in Latin America technology startups. SoftBank is by far the largest active player in the region, looking to deploy $5 billion in capital. Colombian Rappi, Argentine Ualá and Brazilian Inter, Creditas and Gympass. Those are just a small sample of the nearly 40 Latin American tech companies that the Japanese giant has invested in over the past year and a half.
