A hundred years have passed since a global pandemic set the world on fire, as major populations abandoned their cities and vanished into the countryside, leaving its robotic workforce alone and without purpose. Roaming this empty place, scavenging for remnants of the old world, is a former worker bot whose interests lie in understanding life before the outbreak. Yet upon finding a bloodied yellow raincoat, they discover a much deeper and darker story behind its origins. An unsolved murder case surrounding the young Emma Vickers. As the worker bot embarks upon the journey to uncover the truth, a maddening hunger begins to overtake the robots of the city, sending them into a frantic frenzy for survival.
