#037 - "The Reckless Raven" - Yukon 50 Mile Ultra & Relay

Affectionately known by it's original name " The Reckless Raven", and quickly rebranded as "The Yukon 50 Mile Ultra & Relay, this race has just celebrated it's 9th year of blisters and bliss through the mountains, streams, trails, and backcountry through 80 kilometres of pristine Yukon wilderness. This event was created over several conversations by some very community minded athletes who knew full well that the Whitehorse Copper Belt area and surrounding mountains would be a fantastic place to host an Ultra Race. Since the ancient trail system, cross country ski trails and wild game trails would all naturally lend themselves to such an event, the rest should be easy...or so they thought. The only problem was, when, how, who? Having never creating a running event of this magnitude before, the race coordinators pondered over the details of organizing a wilderness race that truly is a "wilderness experience race" unlike anything else of it's kind in Canada.
