Undiscovered SoundsAuthor: Hannah Turnbull and Katie Shackleton
Undiscovered Sounds is a podcast dedicated to interviewing local and/or independent artists, bands and musicians. Focusing primarily in the North East of England, a place often case aside in the eyes of the creative industry. Hosted by Hannah Turnbull - a chatty, self-proclaimed musician and equality advocate with an odd obsession over James Blunt; And Katie Shackleton - a quiet old soul, trapped in the body of a sexually confused teenager. The two of them couldn't be any more opposite to each other yet together, the intersection of their worlds provides an interesting and intriguing place to discuss music and topics alike. They met back in 2018, in their first year of college - studying Music Production and Performance; Fast forward to 2021 and they are hosting the up and coming podcast for artists in and around Newcastle Upon Tyne, Gateshead and Sunderland. Each episode includes a new guest, discussing matters such as record companies versus self-employment, being a northern musician and how music in general influences every single person in the world. As well as playing a few games along the way (which Hannah seems to think she came up with...) including Kiss, Marry, Kill and Finish The Lyric.
