On March 18, 1981 Future Hall of Famer Carlton Fisk, signs a contract with the Chicago White Sox after then GM Hayward Sullivan made an apparent clerical error mailing the contract out late in December of 1980. He makes the season debut in 1981 vs the Boston Red Sox in fenway and in a scene out of the movies he slugs a 3 run homer in the 8th to give the White Sox a lead they would not relinquish. Here is the story.
