Nope (2022) Movie Review | Jordan Peele’s Boldest, Most Divisive Film?
Monday, 12 January, 2026

Jordan Peele’s Nope is a film I’ve been circling back to since release. On paper, it’s sci-fi horror about UFOs and spectacle. In practice, it’s a strange, ambitious, often frustrating meditation on trauma, exploitation, and our need to look at things that might destroy us.In this review, I break down what Nope is actually doing beneath the surface, from its unsettling Gordy subplot to its refusal to explain itself in neat genre terms.
