With The Lights OutA deep dive into '90s music, TV, & film, and what life looks like after fame. Author: John Caldwell
Are you a 90s music fan? Of course you are. So is John Caldwell. But back then when you were busy collecting CDs from bands like Nirvana, the Notorious B.I.G., and Oasis, John was an artist manager and the President of an Atlantic Records subsidiary in the 90s. Acts John worked with sold over 60 million records, and toured the world. John is still friends with many of the artists we all know and love. And all of them have fascinating stories to share. And while his show has its share of reminiscence, John and his guests will also dig into fame, contrasting what being famous was like then, what fame means in the modern age, and what its like when the word fame no longer applies. Are you a fan of ‘90s music, TV & Film? Me too. But I have a different perspective than most. Back when Nirvana, Biggie Smalls, and Oasis were ruling the charts, I was in the music business. Not as a musician, but as a Manager and as the President of a record label. I worked with artists that sold over 60 million records and played to packed houses all over the world. So I didn’t just enjoy ‘90s music. I lived it. My name is John Caldwell. Welcome to my new show, With The Lights Out. I’ve always been fascinated with those with creative talent, fame, and the journey of being ‘famous’. We’ll dig deep into what fame meant then and what fame means now for the stars and the people behind the scenes. Join me and my guests on With The Lights Out as we explore that great decade of creativity. Not only for music, but also iconic TV and film. Because all of the movers and shakers of the ‘90s -- at least those still with us -- are still moving and shaking. Some are just doing it in brand new ways. And I can’t wait to bring those stories to you. Because a lot has changed in 30 years. For you. For me. And for those who made sure the ‘90s were gonna live forever. So subscribe to With The Lights Out with me, John Caldwell. Weekly episodes will start dropping in late spring 2020. Visit With The Lights Out dot show so you never miss an episode.
