December 23 2024: The date we announced our first Mixmas winner - Fireworks Factory. Neither he, or we, had ANY idea what would follow this announcement. He was only meant to win a DJ set, instead he's become a core member of our creative collective and has had a profound and very positive influence on the brand. We've released his music, twice, and done quite a few more shows than the single gig he was promised and we have so much more to do in 2026 and beyond. But first we look back over the year he's had and the journey we've shared. From my cringey over-excited first interview with him exactly a year ago all the way through to his recent single Back To U / Infinite Crashing Wave, this extensive interview maps out and explores the trip we've been on both from Max's perspective as an emergent new generation artist and from my perspective as a new label that is purposefully going against the grain at a time when a huge amount of the industry seems obssessed with only profits, metrics and maintaining an increasingly depressing status quo. Despite the raw reality of the current world, 1 More Thing remains a fresh, inclusive, community-minded space that encourages new ideas, urges its crew to break rules and insists on doing things differently.
