What are we learning? Are you asking this question? We need to learn something crucial about community, something we will never forget. Renee Good and Alex Pretti. They are role models. They were not reckless. They did not do the wrong thing. They were killed a stone's throw from their homes. They were both just beyond their front doors. And instinctively they put their personal defense in the smallest acts of kindness. Renee died saying "I'm not mad at you" and Alex was helping a woman that ICE pushed to the sidewalk. Renee and Alex teach us that ordinary love is to be seen, to be thanked, to be practiced and protected.
