In the late 2000s/early 2010s, YouTube was going from being just a place for quirky videos--to a place where people also listened to music. This took the form of cover videos, indie bands (most notably OK Go's various videos), ironic acoustic covers of rap songs, and mashups/remixes. It was a golden age of YouTube, free of ads and full of wonderment and joy. Today we're celebrating the impressive mashup culture of the day and there's no better way to do that than cover one of the greatest video game/hip-hop mashups ever done, "The Ocarina of Rhyme" by Team Teamwork, based on the music of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64. THEN, we decided to cover a few extra tracks from Alex Kresovich, a man that was inspired by Ocarina of Rhyme to do his own video game/hip-hop mashup called "Gold N' Fly 007" based on the music of Goldeneye 64.
