Welcome to this, the introduction to this podcast, its logic, and its format.  Hopefully this idea intrigues you as much as it does me.   A little further detail on my plans: This story will follow a family line that begins at the birth of everything and continues all through the story. Now, I hear you thinking, "but Ovidius, there's no family that stays historically relevant for that whole time!" And yes, you're exactly right.  There isn't.  Which is why this is a story, not a biography.  I'll be stretching the limits of authorial liberty to insert our characters into places they need to be to be able to continue telling the story of Rome, but be warned, we aren't going to be focusing on what the emperor said or did nearly as much as your history class did.  There's going to be a lot more focus on the effects of the actions of those in charge than the actions themselves.
