Mime & Punishment Episode 4
Sunday, 15 November, 2020

In the early 90s the music industry was rocked by the revelation that Grammy winners Milli Vanilli had not sung one single note of their multi million selling album. They were left to face the music on their own and their overnight success ended even faster. What many people don’t know is that Milli Vanilli were not the only imposters in town!In this series of the Traxploitation Podcast we’ll be looking into the history of MiIli Vanilli, starting with their producer and creator Frank Farian, who had already pulled a similar trick with Boney M. We will then look into the phenomenon of “ghost singers” and all the other examples of singers not being credited and someone else getting all the credit.
