Two Cents Podcast: Episode 3 - Here are 5 Ways to Manage Your Mental Health As An Entrepreneur
Episode 3
Wednesday, 7 June, 2023

Mental illness is a problem for business owners. Here are 5 things you can do as a business owner to keep your mental health in good shape. 1. Take time for yourself. As a business owner, it's easy to get busy with work and forget about your own needs. But it's important to give yourself time every day, even if it's just a few minutes. Take some time away from work to do things you enjoy, like reading, working out, or spending time with friends and family. 2. Ask for help from a professional. It's not a sign of weakness to need help. It's a good thing! If you're having trouble with your mental health, don't be afraid to talk to an expert. No one should feel bad about going to a doctor or counsellor for help. You can take care of your mental health with help from therapy. I've been going to therapy for years. It helps to talk about your life with someone who isn't part of your everyday life. Related: How leaders get mental health wrong 3. Join a support group. You don't have to go through this alone. There are many offline and online support groups for businesses. These groups are a great way to meet other business owners who know what you're going through. Support groups can be a great way to meet new people, get help, and feel better. 4. Take breaks. The need to always be "on" can lead to mental health problems tied to running your own business. If you're too busy at work, take a break. Step away from your computer and go for a walk or take a few days off to relax and recharge. Taking breaks when you need them is important. If not, you might get tired of it. 5. Make sure your body and mind are getting the fuel they need. The wrong food can be the last stick that breaks the camel's back. As a business owner, you are always under pressure to do well, meet goals, and get things done. And if you don't pay attention, it can hurt your mental health. Because of this, it's important to make sure you take care of your body and mind. To keep your mind healthy, you need to eat well, get enough sleep and exercise, and learn to deal with worry. You can get great short-term and long-term results from taking a supplement to improve your mental and cognitive skills while taking care of your physical health. By using these tips, you can improve your mental health and lower stress. Remember that you are not alone in your problems and that you can get help if you need it.
