Right now, in a galaxy near you, there is a full-contact striking league that has rapidly grown a fan following of millions and may become the worlds most popular combat sports organization. How are they doing this? By forming a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) and transitioning governance to its fans and athletes. Since 2018, Karate Combat has been the only league to blend live-action sports with immersive CGI environments powered by the Epic Games Unreal gaming engine. World champions and Olympic medalists from around the world have competed in eight different weight divisions in pursuit of Karate Combat World Championship belts. Now, Karate Combat will be the first sports league to re-structure as a DAO.Never heard of a DAO? Well thats ok! I was in similar shoes not too long ago, but ive got my bearings a bit now and I want to help explain why this is no joke for fans of not only Karate Combat as a league, but possibly every sport in the world. We made it through a full season. This finale is almost as action packed as the career of our esteemed guest, Mr. Bas Rutten. Bas is a combat sports legend who is the official ambassador of Karate Combat as well as one of the broadcast commentators. An additional attribute of Bas is that he is maybe one of the most pleasant individuals you will ever talk to.This was a blast to record and a perfect end to our inaugural podcast season.
