A Lifetime in Music: From Spain to Sun City West with Dr. Dianne Winsor
Episode 3
Thursday, 5 November, 2026

What does a lifetime devoted to music look like, and what's next after a distinguished international career? On this episode of the Passport Podcast, host Keith Breitbach welcomes Dr. Dianne Winsor, an accomplished classical flutist who spent 30 years as principal flutist with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León in Spain. From her early passion for the flute to three decades performing in Europe, Dianne shares the experiences, challenges, and rewards of a life dedicated to musicianship. We also explore her decision to return to the classroom and earn a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Arizona State University, the challenges facing professional orchestras, including the Phoenix Symphony, and her continued involvement in Arizona's vibrant musical community. It's a conversation about artistry, dedication, lifelong learning, and discovering new possibilities at every stage of life.
