Hello and welcome to the second episode of The SK Podcast, the show where we talk to local businesses, charities and community groups within Stockport, to find out what’s going on in all the different corners of the community. In this episode we spoke to Sara Crookdake & Kieran McMahon from Disability Stockport, a charity and campaigning organisation which offers a wide range of services that support people with disabilities. We spoke about media portrayals of people with disabilities, why we need to communicate to help break stigmas and taboos around the subject of disabilities, and the commendable way the organisation reacted and adapted their services in the wake of the pandemic.
