Poetry for the People PodcastAuthor: Jeff Kaliss
The Poetry for the People Podcast is a project of the City College of San Francisco class of the same name, instructed by Tehmina Khan and comprising students of diverse ethnicites, ages, and genders. The Podcast extends the mission of the class, which is connecting the art and craft of poetry with the community and society in which it's created. We aim to share the life experience, influences, and wonderfully varied poetry of the students with listeners across the cybernetic noosphere. Bruna and Monique
Thursday, 16 May, 2019
Bruna Brito shares a poem about haunting thoughts, sin, and finding happiness. Monique Koller reflects on the last days of Aardvark bookstore, an old SF establishment and her favorite place to buy and sell used books. Monique will also render us a vivid description of seasons changing, and youth hitting the dance floor. Bruna laments a culture of trends and people treating themselves as products, and asks how we can find peace through nature.
