Faucets Of RealityA podcast in which @DmitryMakelove will be answering the eternal question, "WHAT IS ALL THIS?!" Subscribe, DM me, and let's connect. No I'm not AI (yet) Author: Dmitry Markelov
Hello and welcome! My name is Dmitry Markelov (@dmitrymakelove) and this is "Faucets Of Reality", a show in which we explore, learn about, and grow our understanding of what it is to be human at this time on Earth. Ever since I can remember, and it feels like forever, I have been fascinated with what all this is being, life, and the nature of reality in general; it is now my hope to traverse these different facets and expand consciousness together, with you. There will be two different kinds of episodes: 1) solo 2) with guest(s) I believe each one of us is a faucet (channel) of water (wisdom) that only needs to be tapped (opened). Here, on this podcast, I will be doing just that; although I will start this experiment with myself, I always look forward to conversations with guests as well. Send me an email if you or someone you know will vibe well here: faucetsofreality@gmail.com I hope you enjoy. 029 Jackie Padich and the Ephemeral Nature of Art & Ceramics
Episode 029
Thursday, 24 July, 2025
Welcome back to Faucets Of Reality. After somewhat of a hiatus I’m back with a fresh episode and let me tell you this one was incredible. Help me welcome Jackie Padich (@jackielope.land on instagram), pottery teacher and psychonaut extraordinaire, for truly the best conversation I’ve had in many months. Please enjoy and leave feedback. Thanks for being here!Note from Jackie:Some amendments to technical information about clay! (I’m a little rusty 🙃) •The umbrella term for what all types of clay are decomposed from is a Mother Quartz although feldspars are under this umbrella. •The rock that it is weathered from is not necessarily from a mountain top and as the clay travels from its original source it can pick up iron and many other types of natural materials.•It is called crystobolite inversion not conversion and depending on the temperature reached it can also be a quartz inversion. P.S. The mug (one of my everyday go-tos) is made by Jason Hartsoe on instagram as @hartsoepottery! Highly recommend 🫡P.P.S. I want to give a shout out to my teacher Miranda Thomas (aka Wink) she can be found on instagram as @mirandathomaspottery This is a public episode.
