In this episode, Katie talks with coach supervisor Kat Hay about the magic and mystery that lives within supervision and the supervisory relationship. Across this conversation, they explore the evolution from coach to supervisor and what it takes to be a supervisory space holder. Coach supervision isn’t advanced coaching; it transcends and includes coaching by expanding on systemic awareness and space holding and utilises everything that shows up within the supervisory relationship. Instead of reaching a goal, we work thematically, exploring the bigger narrative arcs and themes in the supervisee’s life. Kat Hay’s intuitive ability is a focal point in supporting supervisees to check their own beliefs, rebut assumptions, get curious and embrace personal well-being in order to have a clearer mental space for the complexities of their clients and teams. Her supervision philosophy has three essential cornerstones: presence, self-awareness and courage. Kat has an unshakeable belief in systems-inspired wisdom, the interconnectedness of all things and a greater consciousness for the sake of a better world.
