The Spell of Racism
Episode 501
Tuesday, 19 May, 2026

ORRA The Informationalist of the Network of Awareness interviews four-time bestselling author and community organizer Elohim Ali about “racism as a spell,” arguing that systems (“matrices”) are created by stories that condition the subconscious. Ali defines “spell” via etymology as both spelling and “story/command,” citing news narratives, schooling’s “nine-to-five career spell,” and how fear enables control. He traces the modern black/white race construct to colonial Virginia laws created to divide poor Europeans and Africans after Bacon’s Rebellion, framing segregation as a tool to prevent unified uprisings, and discusses how race narratives are reinforced through media and education. The conversation touches on religion-based proto-racism, misuse of accusations like antisemitism as a shield for elites, and personal transformation away from “white people are the devil.” They propose research, self-awareness of bias, cross-cultural contact, community-building, and spiritual awakening to deprogram trauma loops and cultivate lived unity consciousness.
