Gear, technique, fashion, jargon, guests, and assorted spray from folks who know how to earn it in the backcountry. The world's best backcountry skiing podcast.   The storyline has shifted away from two-wheeled bliss to uphilling and snowsliding. A slow start to the snow totals out West has had many doing the snow dance and seeking ribbons of man-made snow. We all have our needs, and the elevated heart rate must be achieved somehow. As if prayers are answered, during the recording of this episode in Aspen, featuring Chris Davenport, the skies opened, and copious amounts of snow fell. Hallelujah.   Davenport, fresh off a stint guiding in Antarctica, gets us up to speed about his skiing life and his switch to DPS skis in the off-season. Davenport is a longtime Roaring Fork Valley resident and has been on the sharp end of skiing since the 1990s—he's the 1996 World Extreme Skiing Champion.   On Episode 131 of the Totally Deep Podcast: Snow dances are answered. Colorado might be in seriously good shape. The Skimo Olympic rundown. Chris Davenport already has many days on the snow this season. Reflecting on 10 years of guiding in Antarctica. The Pivot to DPS skis and the fleet rundown. Discussing DPS in the marketplace—it's not just a powder ski anymore. A first time on DPS powder planks. A return trip down south.     Thanks for listening and joining us for the 2025-2026 season. And remember: be safe out there.   More info about TDP at Totally Deep Podcast Blog on Cripplecreekbc.com.
