I also needed to build my faith and believe in the power of healing. I knew I had the strength to face the anxiety attacks I was experiencing and begin to address the headaches, stomachaches and trauma I was going through. My life was filled with exhaustion, pain and stress. I had to get out of this dark place. I felt like I was sinking in quicksand and there was no purpose to my life.I got on medication and learned more about my condition. 186 | How Your Ultimate Faith Defeats Anxiety, Loneliness, Sadness and Pain | Do Not Quit
Episode 11

Send us Fan MailGod feels quiet, your prayers feel delayed, and your mind keeps asking the same question: did He forget me? I’m Tamera Trotter, and I’m walking straight into that tension with you, because faith and depression often collide in the waiting. This conversation is for anyone trying to keep believing while carrying chronic depression, grief, loneliness, anxiety, or a long season that won’t lift. We unpack what “ultimate faith” really looks like when circumstances grow worse before they get better and God’s timing doesn’t match your expectations. I share how Scripture frames testing as refinement, not rejection, and why the greatest victories are often preceded by the greatest tests. We also tackle the painful misconception that silence equals absence, using stories like Abraham and Joseph and a simple picture of a teacher who stays in the room during the test. Mental health matters here. Depression is not a sign that you lack faith, and seeking counseling, medical care, medication, or other treatment can be fully consistent with trusting God. We talk about identity when depression whispers lies, how to celebrate progress even when it’s slow, and why sometimes the biggest act of faith is simply refusing to quit and choosing to “stay in the game of life.” If you’re ready for guided support, I also share my course, The 14 Days to Manage Depression.
