This week's guest is David Goren, an independent radio producer and audio archivist based in NY whose company is called Handsewn Radio. His programs for the BBC and NPR have showcased outlaws of the airwaves. He focuses on the people and sounds of community radio: from shortwave to pirate radio stations operating from church basements, bodegas and bedrooms. He has created a Brooklyn Pirate Radio Sound Map and he's now in partnership with the sound preservation program of the Library of Congress. He began his career as a radio engineer primarily recording jazz from Lincoln Center.
