The A24 Friday the 13th prequel follows Pamela Voorhees in the aftermath of young Jason’s apparent drowning, just as gruesome deaths begin spreading fear across the quiet New Jersey town. Roxy, Tara, Jackie & Paige react to Linda Cardellini’s transformation into Pamela, young Jason’s story, the premiere’s shocking ending, the escalating kills, the mystery surrounding Grace, and all the Friday the 13th Easter eggs hidden throughout the first four episodes! Crystal Lake Season 1 Episodes 1–4 Full Reaction Watch Along: / thereelrejects Created by Brad Caleb Kane (It: Welcome to Derry, Fringe), Crystal Lake stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees (Freaks and Geeks, Dead to Me), Callum Vinson as young Jason Voorhees (Chucky, Long Bright River), Gwendolyn Sundstrom as Grace (I’m Beginning to See the Light, I Don’t Think I Believe in Love), William Catlett as Police Chief Levon (Lovecraft Country, Abigail), Cameron Scoggins as Officer Dorf (Nashville, The Blacklist), and Devin Kessler as Brianna (Godfather of Harlem, Juicy). After the reaction, the four discuss Linda Cardellini’s performance, the show’s expanded Pamela Voorhees origin story, its bloody practical effects, the 1970s summer-camp atmosphere, and how Episodes 1–4—“Camp Crystal,” “Part II,” “Part III,” and “A New Beginning”—reimagine the mythology established by the original Friday the 13th.
