Disco Classics: Thank God It's Disco Vol. 8 (2022 Finale)
Sunday, 27 November, 2022
This is a disco classics mix — Thank God It's Disco, Volume 8 (2022) — the four‑hour finale of the series, assembled as a remastered celebration of popular disco songs for modern club sound. The set balances floor‑filling favourites with deeper gems, updated and sequenced to preserve original groove while delivering contemporary clarity and punch. Standouts include Chemise’s underground 1982 cut “She Can’t Love” in a Purple Disco Machine extended mix, a fresh Party Favorz re‑edit of Ahzz’s “New York Moving,” and playful treatments of Ottawan’s “D.I.S.C.O.” alongside Dimitri From Paris’ Sister Sledge remix. You’ll also hear refreshed mixes of Chic and Donna Summer woven into a nearly four‑hour continuous sequence that leans on extended remixes and tasteful reworks rather than gimmicks. Volume 8 is released as a tribute to the late Irene Cara and dedicated to her memory; her “Flashdance (What A Feeling)” appears here in a contemporary club mix. This final instalment closes the Thank God It’s Disco run with a respectful, dance‑ready nod to the era.
