This is Play That Rock n' Roll's interview with MICHAEL DES BARRES about the first ever LIVE album from THE POWER STATION, the super-group he fronted in 1985 after original lead singer Robert Palmer stepped away. "POWER MAD: The Power Station Live at the Spectrum" is being released on vinyl as part of Record Store Day 2026. In this conversation, we talk about the wild tour this album is pulled from, what it was like fronting one of the biggest super-groups of the '80s, and what he had to do win over an audience who were expecting someone else.
