Barry Maguire sings his 1960s nihilistic hit Eve Of Destruction while Don Fardon sings about the lament of the American Indians with the poignant Indian Reservation. A pro feminist song way before its time is LGBTIQA+ singer Lesley Gore with You Don’t Own Me. Aussie protest songs are well represented by Redgum’s heart wrenching I Was Only Nineteen, Goanna’s classic protest about indigenous land rights Solid Rock and Midnight Oil’s iconic Beds Are Burning.
