On Episode 314 of Outside The Round, Matt Burrill sits down with rising artist Joe Bryson to talk about his Louisiana roots, his self-described “Kitchen Sink Country” sound and the journey that brought him to Nashville. Joe shares how he started performing as a kid, his early days playing in bands around Louisiana and how influences ranging from Soundgarden to Eric Church helped shape his sound and high-energy live show. Joe also opens up about surviving cancer at a young age and how the experience gave him a new perspective on life before moving to Nashville in 2020. The guys get into his years cutting his teeth on Broadway, signing with Spirit Music Group, his friendship with Brooke Lee and working alongside writers like Neil Mason, Justin Halpin and Cale Dodds.
