ERIC LEE - born in Zhongshan, China, Eric Lee began training in martial arts with his father in Choy Li Fut. After moving to Oakland, California, he studied Hung Gar and Wing Chun, and in 1968 trained under Al Dacascos in Wun Hop Kuen Do, gaining exposure to multiple styles and weapons. In the 1970s, Lee stood out by performing in black uniforms with dynamic, circular movements. Known as the “King of Kata,” he appeared on over 50 magazine covers, including Inside Kung Fu and Black Belt, and brought entertainment elements like music and lighting into his routines. He later worked in film as a stunt performer and actor, appearing in The Killer Elite (1975), Good Guys Wear Black (1978), and Weapons of Death (1981). Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he continued his career with roles in films like Big Trouble in Little China (1986), Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985), and Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991), and produced The Master Demon (1991). www.ericlee.com The podcast serves the community by uplifting the inspiring voices that reshape our world through fairness and shared access in the arts, business, and beyond.
