Dr. Anthony Cannella, Director of the Non-Tuberculous Mycobacerial clinic at Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, provides an overview of the management of AFB infections in both immunocompromised and non-immunocompromised patients. Topics discussed include the epidemiology of NTM infections, environmental risk factors, the immunological basis of infection, risk factors, clinical presentation, and treatment options. Treatment topics include traditional and newer treatment options, the use of aminoglycosides, clofazamine, dual beta-lactam therapy, and the oxazolidinones.
