84. The motivation problem nobody talks about
Tuesday, 8 September, 2026
You know that moment when you’ve had ENOUGH!?You’ve seen a photo you don’t like, stepped on the scales, overeaten again or realised you’ve barely moved your body for week and suddenly you’re D-O-N-ENo more excuses. No more being so “good” one day and then saying fuck it the next. You’re going to get your eating under control, get back to the gym and finally start doing what you “know you need to do”And for a little while, you do…Until the motivation wears off. Or life gets in the way. Or you eat something you hadn’t planned to. And suddenly that same voice that told you to get your act together is telling you you’ve blown it again. So you start again. And again. And again. But what if the problem isn’t that you don’t want change badly enough? Or that you’re not motivated enough? What if it’s the way you’ve been trying to create change? In this episode, we’re talking about the motivation problem nobody talks about: why criticism, shame and fear can get you moving, but can’t necessarily get you where you actually want to go.Because if you’ve spent your whole life believing that being hard on yourself is what keeps you disciplined, what happens when you stop? Will you stop caring? Become complacent? Let yourself go?Or is there another way to care about your health, your body and your life that doesn’t require you to feel bad enough first? We’re getting into what’s really happening underneath that “Right, enough is enough” feeling, why the same motivation that gets you started can also derail you and what it actually looks like to build a different relationship with yourself…one where you can make supportive choices, navigate the messy weeks and keep going without constantly needing to start againAnd I’ll be giving you some questions to take away and practise, so you can start noticing what’s really driving your own decisions around food, exercise and your body.If you’re ready to end the yo-yo cycle with food and your body, feel NORMAL again around food and finally trust yourself to do the things you know you need to do (for life) - 1:1 coaching is where we make it happenClick here to apply
