Carrie & Crystal Lake & Halloween Shenanigans
Episode 57
Monday, 19 October, 2026

We're back for the Spooky Season, ghouls and girls! While this episode covers quite a lot (we've been gone since February), the main focus is the 1979 ABC special, 'The Halloween That Almost Wasn't' (or 'The Night Dracula Saved the World') -- a twenty-five minute Halloween romp for the ages starring Mariette Hartley and Judd Hirsch. We just love Halloween movies that make us feel like kids again and also gives us reminders of what Halloween used to make us feel. Also in this episode are massive spoilers for the new 'Carrie' and 'Crystal Lake' television shows (all streaming now, on Prime and Peacock). Were we happy to be visited with fresh takes on classic tales? Listen now and find out!We also dive into online bullying, Son of Monsterpalooza and The Horror Exhibit, and of course, Alex is quizzed on his horror knowledge because that's how we do things. An unconventional episode, indeed, but an episode nonetheless!
